Information We Receive
A query entered in a search box is sent to the third-party search provider that processes it. This site does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. We may also receive information submitted in a contact message, such as a name, email address, and message text. Contact messages are retained so we can reply and are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is legally required. Servers and service providers can automatically record technical details including an IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, referring page, pages viewed, time spent on each page, access time, and other timestamps.
Cookies or similar browser storage may support preferences, analytics, advertising, fraud prevention, and basic site functions. Cookies can be blocked or removed through browser settings, though some features may then behave differently.
How Information Is Used
Information may be used to operate and secure the site, answer messages, correct broken links, measure traffic, understand how pages perform, prevent misuse, and improve access to Phillips County and Kansas public-record resources. Contact details are not a substitute for a request filed with the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office or another government custodian.
When Data Is Shared
We do not sell personal data. Information may be provided to search partners that process queries, analytics vendors, hosting and security services, and advertising networks. It may also be disclosed to law enforcement or another authority when required by a valid legal order, or when reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and site integrity. We do not control how an outside provider uses data after a visitor leaves this site.
Links Beyond This Site
Links may lead to the Phillips County Sheriff’s Office, the current jail roster, Kansas court access, Kansas KASPER, federal locators, news outlets, and private research services. Each destination has its own privacy terms and security practices. Review them before submitting a query or personal information.
Security and Retention
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no website or transmission method can promise perfect security. Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for the uses described here, legal duties, dispute resolution, or site protection.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The service is intended for adults and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly seek personal information from minors. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contact Us page to request deletion of that data.
Your Privacy Choices
Depending on applicable law, a visitor may request a copy of personal information submitted directly to this site, ask for its correction or erasure, and opt out of certain processing. Requests concerning sheriff, jail, court, or Kansas government records must go to the public office that controls them. Kansas public-record access is governed in part by the Kansas Open Records Act, K.S.A. 45-215 et seq.; that law does not turn this private site into a government records custodian.
Notice Changes
This privacy notice may change as services or legal duties evolve. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. A revised notice takes effect when posted, and continued use after posting means the current version applies.
